Weekly Update – March 8, 2019

The Sun Is Coming Back Edition

According to Time and Date, we are rapidly approaching 12 hours of sunlight per day (today is 11 hours and 37 minutes). Spring is coming and we’re feeling good. In this week’s update, a Seesaw sign in change, saving passwords on the iPads for easier sign in, and a reminder about our March blog focus.

Seesaw Sign In

Tech Services and Seesaw have solved a pesky problem with student sign in. Instead of using the QR code, students can now sign in to all of their Seesaw classes at once with their Google account! No more QR codes to get from one place to the other. It does require one small change on your part, so here’s a short blog post on how to make the change to your classes.

Save Those Passwords

iOS 12 brought the ability to save passwords to different services. It’s a big time-saver for you and your students once it’s enabled. When you sign in to a website, Safari will prompt you to save the password. You can also go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Website & App Passwords to enter a list manually.

March Blog Series: Video

This month, we’ll be focusing on ways to use video in the classroom here on the blog. Each week, we’ll post an idea or a tip on using video as a teacher for instruction and assessment. Remember, you can sign up for notifications to all new posts via email if you want to be notified as soon as a post is published.
