Free Black History Month Interactive Bulletin Board

February is Black History Month! Below are easy to print posters that make an interactive bulletin board quick and easy! Each poster has a QR code that is linked to a google slide that has a video and information about the person. The posters also come with their own coloring sheet so your students can help decorate the bulletin board.

Along with the bulletin board, there are some other activities you can do with your kids to celebrate this month, as well.

  • You can find articles on influential African Americans on Newsela and do a writing prompt, have them make their own posters, or just read together.
  • Have your students generate a newsletter or a brochure that introduces people to short stories by African Americans.
  • Go on a virtual field trip to the Smithsonian, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, or the Dance Theatre of Harlem (Find more here).
  • Read books by inspiring African Americans and do a project related to it.

The posters were created on Canva and I used their quick qr code generator to link to google slides. You could make your own interactive bulletin board, it’s easy! Just make sure you use seperate google slide or google doc so each QR code takes you to a new place.

Below are some examples of the Google slides I made for each QR code.

I hope you use and enjoy this resource! If you make a bulletin board with your class make sure to take a picture and send it to us.
